Here’s where you can get free flu and COVID-19 vaccines in Philadelphia — Newtown Square Health news

From Philly and the Pa. suburbs to South Jersey and Delaware, what would you like WHYY News to cover? Let us know! The Philadelphia Department of Public Health is running three seasonal vaccination clinics where children and adults can get free influenza and COVID-19 shots. Health officials hope that by making the vaccines easily accessible, more people will get immunized this year. The shots do not prevent someone from contracting either viral disease, but doctors say they can reduce the severity of illness. “Even when the flu vaccine is not a perfect match for the strain circulating and someone still gets the flu, having had your flu vaccination helps to reduce the risk of complications and hospitalizations,” said Dr. Millen Gebreselassie, a family physician and clinical director at Health Center 10. The vaccines are recommended for most people 6 months and older, including very young children, pregnant women and seniors.
